CAR OF THE MONTH
@AYDANZA_

As the story normally goes, I grew up watching the fast and furious movies and began to like cool modified cars. Then I bought a game called Juiced on my PC, and that is what really made me want to own a JDM car when I grew up. Always loved the shape and character of skylines, especially the 32. There’s been many skylines for sale over the years, but not many that haven’t been railed in every spot – so I’ve waited and waited until a stock / cleanish base came alight, and here we are.

THE VISION

I have always enjoyed modifying cars to a OEM + sort of build. Whether that just be a few aesthetic mods and a few performance ones to top it off. I’m not a fan of going over the top with the builds. However, I do respect those that do.

The END goal for this build is to have a clean OEM + 32 that still rocks the controversial rb20 (with a bit of oomf behind it, maybe 350-400whp).

THE JOURNEY

I have owned the car for 2 years now, although it has not been that long – it sure

has felt like a while. I bought the car from a local mechanic next to my job, who

had owned the car since 2007, with pictures showing its former glory.

The car definitely did not look the same as from when I bought it. As soon as I
bought the car, it went in for a freshen up respray and tidy up the bits of surface
rust it had here and there. The car is a factory Ah3 red, so I wanted to keep it that
way as it’s a pretty rare colour in the 32s. I began to add a few GTR body parts on
the car, and then slowly dipped my toes in the wheel game. Bought a set of SSR
MP5’s and had those for a while, then sold them for a set of these OG White
Te37’s. The car came with full GTR interior, however had a few cracks in the trim
pieces here and there. I replaced all the trim pieces, and boy were they not cheap
($550 for a bloody used ash tray). I then tackled underneath the car, slapped in
some cusco suspension on the front and rear. Car is on MCA coilovers with a
6/12kg spring rate, so is fairly comfy to drive. Then eventually had the exhaust re-
done, straight through with vbands throughout.

MEMORY LANE

There hasn’t actually been any low memories with this car, it has been super reliable and fun to own. Only thing I can think of is bottoming out on my driveway and ripping off my carbon diffuser right before I headed out to a show, but that comes with the game.

Good memories with this car would have to be the reacts it gets, it’s always nice to see people give a thumbs up if they see it driving past. That being said, I barely drive the car so not memories to be had in general. Most of the time that car just sits in the garage under a car cover.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

There is a A LOT planned for this car in the future. I am currently waiting for final pieces to the puzzle, but once they arrive the engine bay will be getting a freshen up. I am planning to redo the hot & cold side, but can’t give too much away just yet. I am definitely keeping the rb20 in there though as that has always been the goal. Somewhere down the line, I’d love to put it on bags as well just so that I can stop worrying about bottoming out and ruining a fender, or a front lip, or ripping off another diffuser… Who knows what the future holds though, bags would definitely be a nice touch.
